Promoting content-rich curricular innovation in California's public schools

The California Education Institute (CEI) is dedicated to improving K-12 education in California’s public schools by offering rigorous professional development workshops for teachers and partnering in the development of innovative curriculum consistent with the Content Standards of the California State Board of Education.
CEI seeks to be the leading provider of professional development workshops for California's K-12 teachers. All workshops are hosted exclusively by University Professors with PhDs from the top Universities in the United States. Our workshops
feature a combination of content-rich lectures and intensive modeling of classroom activities. All classes feature a mixture of lecture and class discussion and a homework component consisting of close reading assignments and short writing assignments which are completed online.
Currently, CEI works exclusively with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).
Currently we are offering 3 courses for LAUSD Professionals. Each course confers 1 multicultural salary point. Each class meets for one weekend, 8:00-4:30 both days, and all classes are on the campus of California State University, Northridge in the San Fernando Valley.
